“Delivering so many doses of semen in one financial year has not been matched in recent years in the Netherlands and Flanders,” said Veenhuizen. “We are immensely proud of reaching this fantastic milestone, which is the result of the shared commitment and passion of all CRV employees. As a cooperative cattle improvement organisation, our commitment is to support, in the best possible way, our member farmers in achieving their business goals. The growing interest in our services and products, reinforces our conviction that we are on the right track. We would like to thank all Dutch and Flemish farmers for the trust they have placed in CRV.”
Steyn Bouma, inseminator at CRV, recently inseminated this financial year’s two millionth semen straw from a CRV bull, in the Netherlands/Flanders market. This insemination took place with semen from the bull Woody at the VOF Mulder farm in Nieuwolda, Groningen. Lammert Veenhuizen, managing director of CRV Netherlands/Flanders, was present at the festive event to congratulate the Mulder family and in doing so, symbolically thank all Dutch and Flemish farmers for the trust they have placed in CRV’s genetics.
Dairy farmer André Mulder who, along with his wife Rikie and son Thomas, runs a farm with 350 cows and 140 young stock, has already used at least 750 doses of semen from CRV bulls this year. This time, he chose FeedExcel bull Willem’s-Hoeve Woody. “We have already used this breeding bull many times as a young InSire bull and we are now milking outstanding heifers sired by Woody. They produce well above the farm average and have good conformation and especially the udders are great,” the farmer explains his choice of bull. Other bulls used extensively at Nieuwolda during the past year are FeedExcel bulls Delta Encourage, Delta Fast Lane and Bush-Bros Fragrant, and Delta Endless.
