She was recently classified 86 for frame, 88 for dairy strength and type, 84 for udder, 85 for feet and legs, and VG85 for overall type. In her second lactation, she is projected to produce nearly 14,000 kg of milk with 4.13% fat and 3.46% protein in 305 days. “Animals from this family often achieve high genomic breeding values for NVI, RZG, and TPI. That is why they are widely used in international breeding programs,” Alex explains. “And once they enter production, they prove their genetic potential in practice as well. They are producing like crazy.”The Doma cow family at Koepon traces back to the American breeding and show cow Scientific Debutante Rae, and even further in the pedigree to the legendary Glenridge Citation Roxy (EX 97), crowned the ‘Queen of the Breed’ in the 1970s.
Koepon Real Life brings the ‘Queen of the Breed’ back to life

“Cows that produce milk effortlessly from natural strength, move smoothly, and combine beauty with functionality.” With these words, herd manager Alex Borst describes the descendants of the rapidly expanding Doma family at Koepon Holsteins in Feerwerd (The Netherlands). This description certainly also applies to OH Ranger daughter Koepon Ranger Doma 58, the dam of InSire bull Koepon Real Life.
Doma family
Broadly usable thanks to American bloodlines
Koepon Real Life (sired by Reality RC) clearly shows the trademark characteristics of the Doma family in his genomic profile: strength, capacity, and rib structure. With nearly 1,700 kg milk, €455 Inet, and 127 kg combined fat and protein, he is also an excellent production sire. The functional udders of Real Life daughters are expected to have strong fore udder attachment and high rear udders, with balanced scores for teat length, rear teat placement, suspensory ligament, and udder balance. The well-rounded Real Life has a breeding value of 105 for feed efficiency and transmits A2A2 beta-casein and BB kappa-casein. With +7% CRV Health, he also scores highly on health traits, including 108 for hoof health and 104 for daughter fertility. As a result, daughters of Real Life are expected to remain productive for nearly 14 months longer. With a completely American pedigree, Real Life offers an alternative bloodline and is therefore broadly usable within the Dutch-Flemish Red Holstein population. Sexed semen is also available from this new InSire bull.
