Fast Lane daughter group impresses at HHH Show

Delta Fast Lane
Delta Fast Lane group

Delta Fast Lane made a strong impression at last weekend’s Holland Holstein Show. In Leeuwarden (Netherlands), he presented a highly uniform group of young daughters, all showing appropriate stature, strong skeletal strength, broad forequarters and rump, and excellent condition. Both front and rear leg conformation were perfectly parallel, and the animals moved powerfully around the ring. On display, their broad, high-set udders stood out, and from the front, the quality of the udder attachments was equally impressive.

A very complete sire

Fast Lane (Remmington x Lustrum) was the most used bull in the 2022–2023 breeding year and received his first official breeding values in August, based on his daughters’ performance. These confirm his qualities as a very complete sire. Fast Lane transmits 463 kg of milk with +0.32% fat and +0.16% protein, combined with a feed efficiency of 104 and a lifespan of 626 days. He also scores well across health traits, including 105 for daughter fertility and 108 for claw health. His type breeding value is 109 overall, with 107 for udder and 107 for legs.

CRV sires’ daughters excel with high lifetime production at HHH Show

Crowds of dairy enthusiasts lined the ring at last Saturday’s HHH Show in Leeuwarden to see the nation’s best cows. Daughters of CRV breeding program sires excelled in producing high lifetime yields.

Trillie 171 wins production class

The red-and-white production class was won by Trillie 171, a sixth-lactation daughter of American Carnival from the Vosman–ter Harmsel herd in Wierden (Netherlands). The eight-year-old has produced nearly 74,000 kg of milk to date, with 3.76% fat and 3.31% protein, showing no signs of wear in her well-attached, high-quality udder. Her balanced strength earned her the title of Best Udder in her class. Among the impressive older cows, she placed third overall and later received an honorable mention in the Grand Championship.

Willie 57 shines in the middle class

The Vosman family also celebrated success in the red-and-white middle class with Willie 57. This daughter of Apina Curtis displayed an excellent balance of dairy type and strength, extremely strong legs, a firmly attached foreudder, and a wide, high-set rear udder. German judge Torben Melbaum awarded her 1A in her class, also giving her the Best Udder ribbon. These qualities earned Willie 57 the Reserve Championship in the middle class. The now third-lactation cow has produced a total of 22,541 kg of milk in her first two lactations, with 5.02% fat and 3.80% protein.

Highest lifetime production for Big Delta Anecy

Perhaps the highlight of the show was the appearance of the “grand ladies” with outstanding lifetime production. They were presented in order of their lifetime yields. Last to enter, and with by far the highest lifetime production of all cows at the show, was the renowned Big Delta Anecy from the Knoef farm in Geesteren (Netherlands). This daughter of Delta Solero has produced 133,486 kg of milk over eight lactations, with 4.48% fat and 3.76% protein. At over 12 years old, this exceptional cow remains flawless in udder and leg conformation. She placed third overall in this very strong production class.

CRV congratulates the Vos and Knoef families, along with all other winners at the Holland Holstein Show, on their outstanding achievements.
