CRV bulls prove: Efficient, trouble-free production go hand in hand

Flagship bulls from CRV’s breeding programme in recent years have once again proven the confidence placed in them by the thousands of farmers who have used them extensively. Delta Eloy and Willem’s-Hoeve Woody both improved their production breeding values. And Delta Fast Lane, who impressed with his daughter group at the national HHH show, added information of almost 3,000 daughters to his breeding values and increased one point for feet and legs (now 108) and daughter fertility (now 106).

The stability in the breeding values of daughter-proven bulls inspires full confidence in the new generation of InSire bulls, who raise the bar even further in terms of profitability and ease of management.

Take VDR Spike (Boreso x Amuse), from the VDR Sandra family. Daughters of this FeedExcel bull will deliver exceptionally high returns. Spike transmits nearly 1,800 kg of milk and combines this with a feed efficiency breeding value of 111 and an impressive longevity value of 1,035 days — meaning his daughters remain productive for almost 1.5 years longer than average. He also guarantees trouble-free cows, with breeding values of 103 for daughter fertility, 104 for udder health and 111 for claw health. Spike is already available through the Create programme.

FeedExcel bull Delta Casper, from the Lacrest Cosmopolitan family, also combines efficiency, longevity and health. He transmits over 2,500 kg of milk and 164 kg of fat and protein, 107 feed efficiency and 920 days of longevity. Casper combines very high milk production with solid daughter fertility (105). He also scores 104 for udder health and an impressive 110 for claw health, meaning his daughters will have almost 8 percentage points fewer claw issues than average. Semen from Casper is also exclusively available now to Create programme participants.

New in the CRV offering is Sterksel Simson (by Nobrainer). He is a health specialist with 110 udder health and 108 claw health. But he is also a FeedExcel bull, transmitting 900 kg of milk with +0.41% fat and +0.14% protein and 106 feed efficiency.

Delta Pivotal PP rf (Coronator P x Taskforce P) is an interesting all-round polled bull. He transmits over 1,000 kg of milk with +0.14% protein, 108 udder health, 104 daughter fertility and 109 claw health.

CRV’s red-and-white offering is dominated by polled bulls.

Delta Drone PP received his first daughter-proven breeding values in the Netherlands and Belgium in August and gained over 450 daughters this evaluation. He increased his production proofs with even higher components — now +0.32% fat and +0.14% protein with over 1,000 kg milk. He also scores 106 claw health and 108 total type. In Germany, Drone is now by far the highest daughter-proven PP bull with 136 RZG.

The breeding value of the popular Delta Launch PP now includes the performance information of nearly 11,500 daughters, many in their second lactation. His production breeding value now stands at 312 kg milk with +0.29% fat and +0.13% protein. His unbeaten 118 score for feet and legs remains unchanged.

The high genomic results again highlight the breeding power of Delta Primetime PP as a sire of sons. His homozygous polled son Delta Ratings PP (Primetime PP x Launch PP) scores 112 total type with 111 feet and legs and 110 udder. He also transmits over 1,000 days of longevity, supported by 108 udder health and 110 claw health. Ratings PP transmits nearly 800 kg milk with positive components and is now available through Create.

New in the offering is Delta Rodin (by Bulldozer P), who combines high milk production (over 1,900 kg milk) with 107 udder health, 111 claw health and 108 total type with 108 feet and legs.

For Create participants, Delta Powerbank (Seducer P x Rovelli) offers extra strength, with positive chest width and average stature. He has a well-balanced production profile with nearly 900 kg milk and +0.30% fat and +0.18% protein. He is also a top conformation bull with 112 feet and legs and 112 total type, and scores an exceptionally high 112 for claw health.

The homozygous polled Delta Bonn PP (Sega P x Cartoon P) made a strong debut in the German evaluation system, entering the top 30 with 153 RZG as the number two genomic red-and-white PP bull.

Bulls from CRV’s North-American programme confirmed their international reputation through strong daughter performances. Peak Fugleman rose for the third consecutive proof round with more daughter information; with almost 2,000 daughters he now reaches 3,141 TPI. He also performs strongly in the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Germany and Italy. In Scandinavia and Czech Republic he is now the number five daughter-proven bull.

For the first time, daughter information has been included for Aurora Tyrol (Parfect x Eisaku). He now reaches 3,156 TPI and 465 NM$, transmitting 817 pounds of milk with positive components. Tyrol is a high type bull with 1.57 PTAT and 1.13 for feet and legs. He can be used to correct short teats and transmits positive milking speed. He also scores positively for all fertility traits (+1.8 CCR, +3.5 HCR and +0.6 DPR). Tyrol daughters are therefore fertile (104) and show low ketosis risk (106).

New daughter-proven bull Kings-Ransom R Dynorama (Rayshen x Legacy), from the Kings-Ransom KB Dellicate family, is a high-production sire transmitting 133 pounds fat and protein, combined with 105 feed efficiency and 103 daughter fertility. Dynorama daughters can be expected to perform ideal on automatic milking systems. He scores 3,121 TPI and 645 NM$.

With 3,476 TPI and 956 NM$, Peak Prizepick (Inspire x Achieve Rf) is an outstanding young genomic bull. He transmits 415 pounds milk with +0.37% fat and +0.14% protein. His type scores reach 1.45 PTAT and 1.00 UDC, with average teat placement and positive teat length. Prizepick is still young and currently available in limited quantities through Create.

Peak Embellish (Excitement x Alanzo; 3,348 TPI, 909 NM$) is an exceptional components sire with +0.38% fat and +0.15% protein. He is also a FeedExcel bull with 107 feed efficiency. Embellish combines efficient production of fat and protein with excellent daughter fertility (107) and positive CCR and HCR scores. He is suitable on heifers and ideal for robot milking systems, having a robot index of 114, high milking speed and desirable teat placement traits. Embellish is used as a sire of sons in both CRV’s American and European breeding programmes and is already available through Create.

From the highest daughter-proven TPI bull Ocd Trooper Sheepster, CRV offers several interesting sons. Pen-Col Gammaray (Sheepster x Gameday) shows an extremely economical breeding profile with 999 NM$ and 3,483 TPI. This FeedExcel bull transmits over 1,000 pounds milk with +0.29% fat and +0.05% protein (168 pounds fat and protein), 109 feed efficiency and 108 daughter fertility, plus positive CCR, HCR and DPR scores. He also records 5.4 Productive Life and a high robot index. Gammaray is available through Create.

Pen-Col Lindstrom (Sheepster x Gameday) also transmits very profitable traits with +18% CRV Efficiency. This FeedExcel bull transmits 1,072 pounds milk with +0.24% fat and +0.04% protein and 110 feed efficiency. Lindstrom daughters will grow into medium-sized cows with high, wide rear udders. They will be fertile (110), with +2.2 CCR and +3.1 HCR, and will achieve long lifespans (+4.5 PL). Lindstrom scores 3,402 TPI and 944 NM$.

The third Sheepster son, T-Spruce Bonamy (Sheepster x Taos), also performs strongly for efficiency traits. He is a FeedExcel bull with 108 feed efficiency and +15% CRV Efficiency. Bonamy transmits 1,720 pounds milk with +0.11% fat and +0.03% protein (166 pounds fat and protein) combined with 106 daughter fertility. He reaches 3,353 TPI and 795 NM$.

Peak Modelo (Catapult x Zappy) is another FeedExcel bull with strong production. He achieves +14% CRV Efficiency and 189 pounds fat and protein thanks to 835 pounds milk with +0.38% fat and +0.09% protein, combined with 107 feed efficiency. With a robot index of 116, Modelo is very suitable for farms using automatic milking systems. He scores 3,366 TPI and 910 NM$.

With Eskdale Starpower Rf (Hulu Rf x Rubels Red), CRV offers a unique red factor bull. He combines spectacular type with a production value of 683 pounds of milk with positive components. Starpower transmits show-winning conformation with 3.04 PTAT, 1.97 UDC and 1.82 feet and legs. He also scores positively for health traits.
